The big "secret" problem with third person shooters


I have discovered a SECRET problem which all third person shooter controllers suffer from .

This problem is a massive deal for playability of your TPS game and nobody discusses it.

I have watched countless tutorials on how to make a third person shooter controller. not a single one of them deals with the problem, in fact they go out of their way to make sure that in every bit of footage you see, the problem never happens.


but believe me it is there..... and it is horrible.

lets have a little video clip to show the problem...


as you can see, when the "thing" you are aiming at is too close to the player/camera , the player still tries to aim at it and everything goes .... well .... weird.

again, believe me. They all have this problem. Watch a few tutorials.... You will never see the player trying to aim at something very close.

I researched a fix for this problem , and although I am not 100% there , I do have a solution of sorts.

The only help I got was from one of Unity`s star youtube content creators. 



so lets see where this took us.





Is this good enough? I honestly dont know.... I`m not completely happy with it but it will have to do for now.
